Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)
In 1968, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) established the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Its purpose is to cultivate a favorable and mutually advantageous relationship between students and professional public relations practitioners. The society aims to:
- Foster students' understanding of current theories and procedures of the profession.
- Encourage the highest ideals and principles Instill a professional attitude.
- Encourage Associate membership in PRSA and eventually Accredited membership.

PRSSA in Washington State
There are four PRSSA chapters in Washington state, located at the following universities:
- Central Washington University in Ellensburg
- Gonzaga University in Spokane
- University of Washington in Seattle
- Washington State University in Pullman
