Power and other resources were limited and public scrutiny was high. How were they able to keep their calm under this high pressure situation? Join a panel of public information officers who will share lessons learned and offer tips for weathering storms, literal and figurative. Panelists will include: Suzanne Hartman, APR, Director, Communications and Public Affairs, Seattle City Light Martha Monfried, Director of Corporate Communications, Puget Sound Energy Neil Neroutsos, APR, Media and Public Relations Liaison, Snohomish County Public Utility District
Special thanks to our sponsor, FlashNews. When a winter storm or earthquake hits, FlashNews collects emergency information from education, law enforcement, utilities, government organizations and others with urgent news in specific media markets and provides it to the media via e-mail and through a continuously updated web site. The system also handles non-urgent news releases, distributing them to a single community or the entire Northwest--all for about $220 per year. For more information contact Tara Darrow, APR, at tdarrow@starbucks.com. 5:50 Happy Hour at the Tap House Grill SeattleThis monthly, third-Thursday gathering will be an all-ages mixer as PRSSA students match up with mentors from the Seattle area. Join the fun, reminisce with students, discuss career moves with mentors or sit back and enjoy a beer from the Tap House’s 160 beers on tap. This is an all ages, no-host event. Feel free to bring coworkers or friends and stay as long as you like. The Taphouse Grill is located at 1506 Sixth Avenue in downtown Seattle. See you there!
