Be a Mentor, Make a Difference
We are seeking PRSA members with at least one year of experience to mentor students from either the University of Washington or Central Washington University. These students are PRSSA members and looking for guidance as they complete their college careers and look for work in PR. For only 1-2 hours of your time per month, you can help guide a promising young professional into the field! Join us at the Puget Sound PRSA Annual Meeting where Monica Harrington of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will provide a high-level overview of the foundation's work and discuss:
- The long-term impact of the Warren Buffett gift;
- How the foundation thinks about its role; and
- What it tries to achieve through its advocacy programs.

You'll also learn how fundamental communications strategies- like research, knowing your audience, building coalitions, identifying familiar thought leaders and targeting your communications- fit into the foundation's overall mission for improving people's lives around the world.
